Please read carefully the new COVID-19 Policies and Procedures by following the link on the registration form.  You must agree and follow these policies and procedures to have your child attend the program.  Our apologies for any inconvenience this may cause you and your family. We are trying our best to keep everyone safe and follow provincial guidelines. By registering your child you agree to the following points for informed consent.

Due to the current circumstances we will be giving local children priority registration.

Informed Consent: COVID-19

I understand that the children attending Tofino Nature Kids programming may not be socially distanced at all times.

I understand that the program educators will be taking all precautions necessary to encourage space bubbles between the students  and will redirect them with positive language when necessary.

I understand that educators may need to physically comfort my child from time to time and only when necessary. This will be offered in the form of gentle hugs, hand holding and sitting closely should the child require it.

I understand that educators may need to help my child with toileting and that they will take proper safety precautions while doing so.

Daily Health Check

I will check my child's health prior to programs beginning each morning and will not send my child if they have a temperature, fever, cough or are sneezing. If my child has a runny nose, cough, sore throat, difficulty breathing, sinus congestion, unexplained fatigue, exposure to COVID-19 or has taken international travel in the last 14 days, I will not send my child to camp.

Sign in Procedure

I understand that to avoid sharing equipment, educators will conduct sign in and sign out of my child. I will give verbal consent to the staff person to do this at sign in and sign out.

Hygiene Practices

I acknowledge that my child will be willing and able to take part in proper hygiene practices such as regular hand washing.

Tofino Nature Kids is a nature immersion program. We spend all of our time together outside in the summer. Please consider if your child will be comfortable in an outdoor learning environment. Your family must be committed to ensuring your child is suitably dressed and fully prepared for the weather every day. We do have a small covered area for especially soggy times or special projects and events.

Our program only has invisible walls, therefore, our programs are not suitable for children who are prone to uninhibited "wandering".

Registration opening June 17th

"My kid has been going to Nature Kids since a week after he turned three. We love the experiential focus and toy-free outside time that encourages creativity, cooperation and sense of adventure. The staff are passionate about both our local environment as well as cultivating meaningful play time for kids, the perfect combo! We have had nothing but excellent experiences with Nature Kids- both at the Summer Beach Program and the Botanical Garden Program. Thanks Nature Kids!"

~ Tofino Mom & Happy Adventurer

"Dear Jay and the staff at Tofino Nature Kids. I just wanted to thank you inviting my boys to join your drop-in program last Wednesday afternoon. They both enjoyed themselves immensely (despite initial nervousness). Jacob was proud to say he made several friends and that he did "fun things". Caleb soaked in all the attention given by the teachers and loved the exploration time. We are so glad we "bumped into Tofino Nature Kids" during our week in Tofino. Sending the boys to the Nature Kids gave them a chance to interact with other kids their age and allow my husband and I to get out sea-kayaking on our own. We are now back in Gatineau, Quebec and jumping into a wading pool instead of a tidal pool to cool off. Thanks again for offering such a great program to visitors in the area. Keep it up."
